Drawing the Line
May 3, 2017 - May 23, 2017
Lecture: Wednesday, May 3 at 4:00 PM
Reception: Wednesday, May 3 at 5:00 PM
Artists have used lines to express themselves for over 300,000 years. One of the most basic elements of art, lines can be horizontal, vertical, diagonal, straight or curved, thick or thin. They can be used to express movement, equilibrium, uncertainty, energy, structure, and space. Drawing the Line features nine artists who incorporate line as a fundamental axis of their work, whether it is in the exploration of narrative, creation of space, or the pursuit of design.
